Haven't been for the last 4 years I think? Not going back ever. The last time I went some elderette was making fun of the submarines that only come up once a year. Can you feel the love and concern for the inactive ones. Pathetic!

The Memorial
by TheDoctor ini saw some mention of this in another post, but i wasn't sure if there was a topic about it.
being raised in the "truth" its always pointed out that even people who haven't been to meetings in years still come to the memorial.
ive noticed that a lot of time that is actually the case.

Mrs Smith, you won't be the first South African to move to Australia; we have loads of friends who have got fed up with the endless crime and feeling of being unsafe and either moved here or are back in the UK.
Crime is getting really bad here. You may just get to meet me soon! My husband is getting very serious about going.

Joy Or Sorrow When You First Found Out It Was False?
by serotonin_wraith infor me, it was joy.
i was raised in the religion, and i always figured i'd be dying along with 6 billion others because i hated the meetings, the preaching work and the rules, morality and threats of 'jehovah'.
i did not want it to be true.. for others here, finding out it was false was a hard time to go through.. as well as asking which feelings you had at first (joy/sorrow/or add your own) i have a follow up question for those who found it hard- what was it that made the impending deaths of 6 billion people okay for you?

Joy that my insticts were right and there was "something" wrong with them. Sad that my parents and in laws are still in and just can't see it for what it is.

In south Africa property prices are getting very high. The avarage 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home is about R1.3mil You could get a home for about R850 000 but then you'll have to spend a fortune on security because of the high theft in the area. Unfortunately the crime is so out of control that you could by in a relitavly safe area and within a few years it becomes a theft target and then your property value drops.
The interest rate on the morgage is also very high 14.5%, this make repayments very difficult. The prime rate has gone up 6 times in the last two years. When we bought our home in October 2006 the interest rate was 10%.
The avarage South African cannot afford to own their own property and with the prices esculating like they are fewer and fewer home owners are managing to keep their homes
We have been burgled 3 times in the first 2 weeks of this year! If this continues we will be forced to look into leaving the country for good. Australia here we come!

Enjoy the moment. You have a great connection with this guy so just enjoy it. If it lasts good if it doesn't you'll have plenty good memories. Just enjoy your life. What is age anyway?

What are your Guilty Pleasures of a geeky/nerdy variety?
by Crumpet ini don't mean the ones we know about already - things people wouldn't think you did or enjoyed to look at you.. i love watching ray mears extreme survival and learning about how to survive and find food and shelter in extreme climates even though there is a strong possibility that i shall never try and escape naked from a japanese prisoner of war camp, or crash without a flagon of water into the sahara, or come stuck in my ship in a freezing ice plateau in deepest antartica.
.
what's your guilty geeky pleasure?.

I love playing games on my mobile phone. For a 36 year old mother of two I think I should be spending that time more productively but I do it anyway

I need to write to the GB
by Mrs Smith ini then asked her if she agreed that the bible is very clear that no one knows the time or the hour.
so i told her that i feel that the gb made a mistake and they should be humble enough to admit to it.
they made a mistake and they should appologise and be humble about it.

Thanks for all the replies.
My mother is not very fluent in English and would rather have me write the letter as I can make my self understood better than she can. I will put my address on the letter as I don't realy care if they decide I need to be df'ed. If the do take action because of the letter it will show my mom what idiots they are. she says you can't get df'ed for asking a question.
